Casa de Fruta

Certainly one of our most interesting clients, Casa de Fruta presents us with some of the most challenging telecommunications requirements we have ever seen. Since 1908, Casa de Fruta has specialized in dried fruits, nuts and wine. Over the years, Casa de Fruta has grown into a family attraction, located just outside of Hollister, California. Thousands of tourists come each day to visit the mile long complex, which now includes restaurants, a gift shop, sweet shoppe, wine tasting, petting zoo, train, fruit stand, hotel, RV park, car wash, convenience store and gas station. Casa de Fruta also hosts the Northern California Renaissance Pleasure Fair.

We engineered a telecommunications solution for Casa de Fruta using the NEC NEAX communications system. NEC's flexibility met the special needs of Casa de Fruta perfectly. Casa de Fruta's requirements include hotel/motel features, paging, various toll restrictions, long-range telephone connections, voice mail, and surprisingly, a call center! Casa de Fruta has an on-line store and catalog which is mailed quarterly. They have found the ACD call center to be extremely beneficial. It has significantly streamlined the handling of orders by queuing incoming calls for the next available representative. The sales department is able to maximize the use of staff time because the ACD routes calls based upon the most-idle person first.
